About this tool
Sideways pages usually come from a scanner that fed a page the wrong way, or a phone photo taken in landscape. Rotating in a PDF reader often only changes the view, and the file opens sideways again for the next person. This tool changes the stored rotation, so the correction travels with the file wherever it goes. Rotation is recorded per page, which is why mixed documents exist in the first place, and why you can apply a rotation to just pages 4 to 9 using a page range. There is no quality cost: nothing is re-rendered, only a property is changed, so the file size stays effectively the same. If a scanned page is not merely rotated but upside down, use 180 degrees. If pages are the right way up but have huge margins from the scanner bed, Crop PDF is the tool you actually want.

Frequently asked questions
Is the rotation permanent?
Yes. It is written into the file, unlike the temporary rotation a viewer applies, so everyone who opens the document sees it corrected.
Can I rotate only some pages?
Yes. Enter a page list such as 2, 4-6 and only those pages are rotated.
Does rotating reduce quality?
No. Page content is untouched; only the rotation property changes, so there is no re-encoding.
Is Rotate PDF free?
Yes. There's no sign-up, no watermark and no usage limit.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Rotate PDF runs entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device and nothing is stored - close the tab and everything is gone.
Which file types can I use?
PDF. Files are checked by their actual content, not just the extension, so renamed or damaged files are caught early.
Is there a file size limit?
Each file can be up to 200.0 MB, and you can process up to 20 files at once. Because processing uses your device's memory, very large files work best on a computer.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in modern mobile browsers on Android and iPhone. Heavier jobs (large PDFs, OCR) are faster on a computer.
